Mrs. Darla Wagner has been emplyed by Coshocton County Career Center since 1997.
In addition to her teaching licensure from The Ohio State University, Mrs. Wagner has two licenses from the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology: a Manager’s License, which she earned in 1981, and an Instructor’s License, earned in 1985.
Mrs. Wagner worked for nine years as a licensed stylist. She began her teaching profession at Mid-East Career and Technology Center in Zanesville, in 1985. She taught there for nine years and then was hired at Knox County Career Center, where she taught Employability Skills for three years.
Mrs. Wagner maintains strong affiliations with the local salon industry to provide her students with meaningful learning experiences in the form of both internships and early release work programs.
Mrs. Wagner is also a certified instructor with the Look Good…Feel Better organization. This non-medical, brand-neutral public service program teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help them improve their self-image and appearance through complimentary group, individual, and self-help beauty sessions, designed to create a sense of support, confidence, courage, and community.
Mrs. Wagner also encourages strong community service work through her program and has gotten her students involved in many efforts to help local residents in need, including working with The Mentoring Center of Coshocton.
Mrs. Wagner says, “I firmly believe that all of my students are special and unique in their own ways! Daily, I strive to look at the best in every student.”
