Students unite and compete at annual fall mixer
Criminal Justice I junior, Matt Del Toro, is poised to make a second knock-down in the Frisbee Golf contest at the annual CCCC Fall Mixer, Friday, September 6. Del Toro’s accumulated points helped his team tie for third-place, in this year’s overall challenge.

CCCC students and staff enjoyed themselves in the lovely, 68-degree sunshine, Friday, September 6, taking part in a friendly competition, which landed Natural Resources students in the top spot. The challenges, which pitted program against program, are offered as an afternoon extracurricular activitiy known as the annual Fall Mixer. The mixer is an informal get-together, sponsored by the Career Center Student Council organization, for the purpose of giving students and staff an opportunity to get to know one another better, in a fun environment.

Each program competed in many games, which included a football toss, Frisbee bowling, T-ball hitting, a basketball shoot-off, a jump-roping contest, and a tug-of-war competition, among others. The mixer promotes cooperation and camaraderie, as students work together by program to accumulate points, while having fun socializing.

This year’s overall winner, with the highest number of accumulated points, was the Natural Resources program, who will be rewarded with a sub-sandwich party in the near future. Coming in second was Building Trades, and tied for third were Auto Tech II and Criminal Justice.
