
BPA- Business Professionals of America

Business Professionals of America is the nation’s leading CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, information technology, finance, accounting, office administration, and other business-related career fields. For over 50 years, BPA has served as an innovator in Career and Technical Education, providing its members with opportunities for growth through education, competition, community service and personal development.
With over 60,000 members in over 1,800 chapters across 25 states and Puerto Rico, as well as an international presence in China, Canada, Haiti, Peru, and South Korea, BPA is an organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering co-curricular exercises based on national standards.
The Workplace Skills Assessment Program is an integral part of Business Professionals of America. The goal of the program is to provide all business students with the opportunity to demonstrate workplace skills learned through business education curricula. Students prepare for and compete in contests in over 90 categories, under six Assessment Areas including: Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Digital Communication & Design, Management, Marketing & Communication, and Health Administration. Students will be able to: Demonstrate occupational competencies; Broaden knowledge, skills, and attitudes; Expand leadership and human relation skills; Demonstrate a competitive spirit; Receive recognition at the local, state, and nation level.
The Career Center’s local chapter is part of BPA Region 5, which covers Muskingum, Guernsey, Carroll, Harrison, Belmont, Jefferson, Monroe, Noble, Perry, Morgan and Washington counties, in addition to Coshocton.
All students in the Business Professionals and Career Skills Investigation programs at the Career Center are members of BPA. The BPA club advisor is Business Professionals Instructor, Mrs. Angela Wright.
